Layout and Design

Ilette required a simple design and layout which would make the most of her hand drawn illustrations, which are being used throughout the site.

On the homepage I've used her drawings as an unusual style navigation which uses Mosaic.js to slide and reveal their relative pages links. Once on the portfolio section the images are displayed in a grid style. When each illustration is hovered a random coloured overlay slides to cover the iamges.

When clicked the images open up into a full sized lighbox version of the image using the jQuery lighbox plugin which allows you to navigate through all of the images.

The portfolio section also contains an expanding navigation, when hovered displays links to all other sections of the site, including the blog and shop which is located at big cartel.

Ilette also required a blog which was built with WordPress, to include similar styles that would complement the main site. This allows ilette to post various articles about her musings and design inspirations.

Included is the ability to share articles, display her currently available shop products and featured images in an equally minimalist style.
